The LaSalle County Environmental Services & Land Use Department oversees development and construction in the unincorporated areas of the County by issuing Building and Construction Permits for structures in the County, and maintaining  a database of where development is occurring in the county and the amount and type of development taking place.  The Department also oversees the Building Code inspections conducted by Safe Built.  They are a private firm hired by LaSalle County to conduct inspections on construction taking place in the county to ensure compliance with locally adopted building codes.
